第三世界當代思想系列演講
Contemporary Third World Thought Lecture Series
在歷史與結構位置上一樣同屬於第三世界,台灣與亞、非、拉各地其實分享著諸多共通的經驗:殖民、內戰、冷戰、移民、難民、後發資本、威權統治、族群矛盾、民主轉型等等,但也正因為這些經驗所帶來的迫切壓力,造成我們與這些地區缺乏更為積極、具體的認識與互動,無法建立更為多元的參照,豐富我們的自我理解、定位與認知。去年(2015)我們推動「萬隆/第三世界六十年」的系列活動試圖能打開些新的視野,今年進一步邀請來自加勒比海、阿拉伯世界與非洲,且多年來持續面對與我們相當共通的問題進行種種深刻思考的友人,就思想、歷史與文化的特定議題進行交流。討論的議題包括加勒比海的反殖民思潮、獨立後的社會政治思想;長期處於世界政治衝突焦點的巴勒斯坦存在的戰亂、難民、流亡、獨立問題;非洲大陸後殖民時期民主轉型過程中出現過去遺留下來的結構因素所造成的暴力,以及人權與解放思潮中的去殖民問題等等。在過去有遠見的前輩們已經開啟的道路上,我們期待以這些對話作為契機,繼續推進目光的移轉,為台灣的思想、文化、學術帶來些新的轉機,新的想像與新的世界觀。

講者簡介
Aaron Kamugisha is a Senior Lecturer in Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. His current work is a study of coloniality, citizenship and freedom in the contemporary Anglophone Caribbean, mediated through the social and political thought of C.L.R. James and Sylvia Wynter. He is the editor of Caribbean Political Thought: The Colonial State to Caribbean Internationalisms, Caribbean Political Thought: Theories of the Post-Colonial State and Caribbean Cultural Thought: From Plantation to Diaspora.
Anaheed Al-Hardan is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Media Studies at the American University of Beirut. Her research interests are in the areas of collective memories and remembrance, decolonial, indigenous and feminist of color theory, modern Arab intellectual and political history and imperialism and anti-imperialist social movements. She joins the Department from the ICI Berlin Institute for Cultural Inquiry, where she was a Postdoctoral Fellow (2011-13). Prior to the ICI, she was a Palestinian American Research Center Doctoral Fellow in Damascus (2007-08) and a researcher on the Global Networks Project at the Institute for International Integration Studies in Trinity College, University of Dublin (2006-07). She has also previously taught in the Department of Sociology at Trinity College, University of Dublin, where she completed her doctoral dissertation (2011). Her The Palestinians in Syria: Nakba Memories of Shattered Communities is being published by Columbia University Press in 2016.
Lyn Ossome is Senior Research Fellow at the Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) in Kampala, Uganda. She received her PhD in Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), where she has also previously lectured. Her research specializations are in feminist political economy, land and agrarian studies and political theory. Her current work in democratic theory deals with ideas of emancipation through a critical engagement with histories of women’s political activism, contemporary politics of representation, popular movements, queer histories, and human rights. In the area of land and agrarian studies, her current research is concerned with the agrarian question of gender equity, subsistence political economies, women’s work and reproductive labour regimes in the process of agrarian change.
